Guidelines for Personal Services

 When building personal service budgets, units should focus on the following variables:

· Annualizing positions

·  Adding new positions

·  Eliminating unused positions

·  Increasing annual increment obligations

·  Additional $60 for another year of service for eligible employees

·  First-time obligation of $180 for completing three years of service for eligible employees

·  Faculty promotions

·  Reviewing part-time/overtime pools

Each unit should ensure that sufficient budget exists to support the annualized costs of all filled and vacant positions.  The EBO should verify that the annualized value of personal service commitments do not exceed the available resources.
